A Brief Survey for Retailer Input Regarding Potential “Hang Tag” Changes in the EPA’s Revised Certification Program. Please complete immediately or by September 3, 2010

EPA will be revising their “certification program” for woodstoves over the next few years and extending parts of it to all the other solid fuel appliances which were previously not part of it. As part of this revision they will be revisiting the “Hang Tags” and other consumer information which was originally devised in 1988 when the rule was first issued.

IRS Guidance on Tax Credit for Purchase of Biomass Stoves

On June 1, 2009, the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) finally issued its guidance for the 30% consumer tax credit (up to $1500) for the purchase and installation of a 75-percent efficient biomass-burning stove.
